PGT Construction in Ontario, CA
We’re an independent construction crew that installs, repairs, and replaces PGT windows and doors across Ontario. That means we work on the WinGuard aluminum and vinyl lines, the Sentinel Series by WinDoor, and the Milgard Tuscany Series now under PGT Innovations, and we’ve seen every failure mode this city’s climate can throw at them. What makes our PGT work different in Ontario is simple: we know the central ZIPs are packed with 1950s – 70s stucco slab homes whose original rough openings were never sized for modern impact frames, and we plan every retrofit around that reality. Call (877) 752-3951 to talk through your project.
Why Ontario Residents Choose Us for PGT Service
Most contractors in Ontario treat PGT work as a sideline. We treat it as a discipline. Our crews have pulled apart failed WinGuard sashes, sourced OEM rollers and gaskets, and reinstalled sliding glass doors in some of the oldest tract homes in ZIP 91762, and we’ve done the same work in new infill builds on the city’s edges. Noel Carranza runs our team, and he grew up around framing and finish work in the hills of Orange County before studying construction technology at Fullerton College. The lesson we carry from that background into every PGT job is straightforward: a window or door is only as good as the opening it sits in, and how it was flashed, and whether the frame was shimmed true. That same discipline applies to our Los Serranos PGT service. We handle all three.
We’re local to Ontario, not driving in from the coast, which matters when a Santa Ana wind event tears through and your slider track is full of dust from a graded lot down the street. You get someone who knows the housing stock, the soil, and the way heat builds on a west-facing wall in August. And because we’re PGT sales & service specialists with full general contracting scope behind us, we can address the window, the rough opening, the stucco repair, and the interior trim under one contract.

Common PGT Construction Problems We Solve in Ontario
- Warped vinyl frames on west- and south-facing walls. Ontario’s summers hit hard, and vinyl impact frames that sit in direct afternoon sun can bow and throw the sash out of alignment. The result: windows that won’t latch cleanly and locks that fight you. We straighten what can be saved and replace what can’t, then address the exposure with better glazing choices where it makes sense.
- Dried-out gaskets and weatherstripping on aluminum WinGuard units. Prolonged UV exposure here breaks down the rubber over time. When Santa Ana wind-driven rain comes through, those cracked gaskets let water in. We strip the old seals, inspect the frame for corrosion, and install fresh OEM gaskets that actually seat.
- Fogged or hazed insulated glass in 1990s-2000s PGT installs. Thermal cycling from Ontario’s hot days and cool nights eventually kills the seal on older impact glass. You see haze between the panes that never wipes off. Depending on the unit, we swap the glass pack or the full sash. We’ll be honest about which makes sense.
- Seized slider door rollers from dust and dairy-land grit. Ontario’s position along the I-10 corridor, with active grading and former agricultural land being converted, means fine dust is everywhere. It works into PGT slider tracks, clogs the rollers, and makes a 200-pound door feel like it’s welded shut. We clean, replace, and reset tracks so the door glides like it did new.
- Fogged glass and worn hardware in postwar stucco ranches. Homes in 91762 and 91764 that got early PGT units during 2000s remodels are now hitting the point where glass seals fail and locks wear out. We see this constantly. The fix is usually surgical: new rollers, new gaskets, fresh glass packs. Not a whole new wall of windows.
PGT Service in Ontario: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Here’s the thing about Ontario that generic PGT pages won’t tell you. The central ZIPs, 91761, 91762, and 91764, contain thousands of 1950s – 70s stucco-and-slab tract homes where original single-pane windows are still common. That’s an uncommon concentration for a city this size in the Inland Empire. When you retrofit impact windows into those homes, you’re often working with original rough openings that were framed for thin aluminum sliders, not modern PGT frame profiles. The opening is either too narrow, not deep enough, or out of square from 60 years of slab settlement on expansive soil. A contractor who hasn’t done this work will force the frame and call it good. We’ve seen the results: bowed jambs, cracked stucco at the corners, and a window that never quite locks. Our approach on these older Ontario homes is to check rough opening dimensions before you ever order a window, because the unit that fits a 2008 tract home in a master-planned community may not fit a 1963 ranch off Euclid Avenue. Do it right the first time. The second time costs twice as much and nobody’s happy about it.
PGT Models & Products We Service in Ontario
We install and repair the full PGT WinGuard Aluminum Series and Vinyl Series impact windows, the Sentinel Series by WinDoor, and the Milgard Tuscany Series now under PGT Innovations. For parts, we source OEM PGT components first: sashes, rollers, gaskets, locks, and glass packs. When a part is obsolete or backordered, we use aftermarket equivalents that meet or exceed the original spec, and we tell you before we use one. We keep common replacement rollers, gaskets, and hardware staged for faster turnaround on Ontario jobs, because nobody wants a broken slider sitting open while parts ship from across the country.

FAQs – PGT Construction in Ontario
It depends on the rough opening. Some 1960s openings in Ontario’s tract homes can accept modern PGT frames with minor shimming and flashing work. Others were framed too narrow or too shallow and need a partial reframe to make the window fit right without stressing the frame or cracking the stucco. We measure every opening before we order, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a straight swap or a bigger job. And if it’s a bigger job, our full general contracting scope means we handle the framing, stucco, and trim rather than sending you to someone else. Call (877) 752-3951 to schedule a site look.
Heat expansion is the culprit. Ontario’s summer sun on a west- or south-facing wall can push vinyl impact frames to warp enough that the sash binds against the frame and the lock won’t engage. It’s not always a replacement situation; sometimes adjusting hardware, lubricating the track, or realigning the sash solves it. If the frame has permanently bowed, we’ll tell you that too and walk through replacement options.
Two ways. The wind pushes dust from graded sites and former dairy land into the track, which grinds against the rollers and makes the door bind. And the wind-driven rain tests every seal; if the weatherstripping has dried out from UV, water finds a way in. We see the most slider service calls in Ontario right after a Santa Ana event, which is why we keep common PGT rollers and gaskets on hand for faster turnaround. Call (877) 752-3951 after a storm and we’ll get your door moving again.
You can replace the insulated glass unit, or IG, without replacing the whole window in many cases. If the sash is still sound and the frame is in good shape, we order an OEM glass pack and swap it in. If the sash itself has failed or the frame is warped, replacing the complete unit makes more sense. Ontario homes with PGT units from the 1990s – 2000s are at the age where this question comes up constantly, and we’ll always give you the repair-versus-replace answer based on what we see in the glass and frame, not what’s easier for us to sell.
Yes. Ontario is dominated by industrial and warehouse construction along the I-10 corridor, and we’ve installed PGT impact windows and doors on commercial tenant improvements and warehouse offices as well as homes. We also provide PGT service in Chino for commercial and residential clients. The specification requirements are different; commercial openings often need larger, heavier units and fire-rated or tempered glass depending on the city’s code office. Our general contracting background means we manage those code and permit requirements rather than leaving them to a homeowner to figure out. For a quote on a commercial PGT scope, call (877) 752-3951.
